Personalized candles for your wedding
Personalized candles for your wedding? Here are some tips to delight your wedding or baptism guests with a lovely keepsake.
TO CREATE YOUR BEAUTIFUL DESIGNS, YOU WILL NEED:
- about 35 g of beeswax or soy wax per container (you can also use leftover candle wax for small zero-waste gifts!)
- as many strands as candles you want to make
- suitable containers (all our ideas a little further down)
- possibly: colorants or fragrances to make your product
more refined and add a personal touch!
Not forgetting a dose of good cheer and a few devoted friends!
THE MANUFACTURING STEPS
Start by thoroughly cleaning and drying your containers, then attach the wick (the best method will depend on the shape of your container; sometimes you can simply glue the wick to the bottom or hold it in place with a clothespin or two skewers). Next, melt the beeswax in the microwave or a double boiler, without adding anything. At the end of this step, if you wish, you can add a few drops of dye or essential oil to scent your mixture. Pour it into the containers and let it dry. You may notice small "holes" forming on some candles as they dry; wait until the candle is dry and then add a little...
A small amount of melted wax to "seal" these minor imperfections.
Make a mystery candle Simply by inserting a mini "surprise" inside the freshly poured candle! This could be a small piece of jewelry or a stone. Fragile items should first be wrapped in a small piece of aluminum foil.
CHOOSING THE RIGHT CONTAINER
The possibilities are numerous! For some chic and classic candles, you could choose to fill in an aluminum box, and create a small travel candle to take everywhere. Once the candle is used up, your guests can pour a new candle into it or recycle it as a spice, tea, or paperclip holder! Just as pretty, a mini jar of jam in Bonne Maman style, wrapped with a pretty ribbon or a nice piece of raffia, will have a charming appeal. Give it a green & chic touch with a lovely Custom wooden label or another wooden label "on the road to happiness"! Another option: the glass bottle, which will highlight its chic and elegant side. Complete with a pretty ribbon and/or a personalized sticker, and your creation will be truly unique.
